Rachel here from La Spa…..

aromatherapyAromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being.

For example Lavender oil is still used in some of the burns units in French hospitals for treating burns and healing scars. Black pepper oil as another example is excellent for irritable bowl syndrome and any digestive disorders. (Hence why we use it in our dinner!!)

Essential oils are blended to specifically treat ailments of the body. The blend can be used on the skin, in the bath or in an oil burner. Even for headache sufferers a few drops of basil oil on a hanky to smell can help with the headache symptoms.

The inhaled aroma from these essential oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing.
